This is the spawn of the moment when I first heard how few tigers there were left in the wild.
There are around 20 thousand left in existence, but just 3 thousand in the wild. [link]. A sad moment of realization. Soon the only tigers left in the world will be pets. No really, the US has a record number of around 5 thousand personally owned 'backyard' tigers. Kinda cool, but also very very sad. If anyone happens to be particularly moved I know WWF has an 'adopt a tiger' program to help save wild tigers.

Done entirely in Photoshop, probably took around 30 hours in total.

I had a friend who had a "personal" tiger as a pet. The authorities took it away from him on grounds that it was too dangerous. His tiger was beautiful, calm and friendly, having adapted to human presence.

This art is a great tribute to tigers and their need. The world needs them. All species exist for a reason, a purpose and the more species disappear the less that purpose is accomplished.
